BSA Troop 24 is a boy-led troop with a focus on outdoor skills, leadership training, and fun.

The troop has been active in southeast Portland since 1917 (except for a few years during WWII). Over 70 scouts from Troop 24 have earned the rank of Eagle, the highest rank in scouting.

As a boy-led troop, the scouts of Troop 24 have rotating, elected boy leaders. The boy leaders

  • plan and lead the weekly troop meetings
  • organize troop activities including camping trips, service projects, and outdoor adventures
  • teach younger scouts key skills, such as fire building and first aid.
  • foster teamwork and cooperation

Even this website is boy-created and maintained.

Parents support scouts by acting as advisors, providing transportation, organizing fund-raising, and providing a safe environment for boy-led scouting activities.

Troop 24 meets Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in SE Portland at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3915 SE Steele. All boys are welcome to join in our adventures!
